The Wiper MCR is a stainless steel linear drain made for these thin finishes: its frame height adjusts to the thickness of your floor, a stainless steel collar takes the waterproofing, and a secondary drainage route clears moisture from beneath the surface.

The problem
Why microcement needs its own drain
Drains made for tiled floors expect a tile and a bed of adhesive on top of the waterproofing, which adds up to a much thicker build-up. Microcement and resin finishes are far thinner, so the drain has to be set to match them, or the frame ends up out of line with the finished floor.
The Wiper MCR is made for that job. Its frame height is adjusted to the thickness of your finish, so the drain sits flush with the floor. There is no tray to work around: the drain can go wherever the design needs it, and the fitter forms the falls in the screed.

Fill it, or make a feature of it
Every grate fits the same drain body, so you can choose purely on looks. Two are fillable: their recessed top takes an insert of floor material, leaving only a slim steel outline. All grates come in brushed, polished or matt stainless steel, with PVD colours in silver, black, brass and gold.

Installation
How it goes in
The order of work, in outline. Full fitting instructions come with the drain: follow them, and the instructions for your microcement or resin system.

Plan the level
Mark the finished floor level and set the frame height to suit the thickness of your finish.

Fix and connect
Stand the drain on its adjustable legs, connect the waste trap and level the drain.

Screed and waterproof
Screed up to the drain, forming the falls towards the channel, then waterproof the floor, bonding the supplied sealing membrane to the drain's collar.

Lay the finish
Apply the microcement or resin up to the drain frame, then fit the grate.

Standard lengths: 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000, 1100 and 1200 mm. Bespoke lengths are made to order.
Choose the waste trap by the depth you have below the floor and the flow rate you need. The McAlpine HC26-50 comes as standard; the others can be chosen when you order.

Which floor finishes is the Wiper MCR for?
Microcement, resin, polished concrete and similar thin-layer finishes. It is designed for floors that are much thinner than a tiled build-up.
How thick can the floor finish be?

Do I need a shower tray as well?
No. The Wiper MCR is a standalone drain and the fitter forms the falls in the screed. If you would rather have the falls built in, see the Resinbase trays for microcement, which come with an integrated drain.
What is the minimum installation depth?
It depends on the waste trap. The lowest option, the H+M Snake, is 46 mm high; add the drain body to get the total. The team can confirm the total height for your set.
How does the secondary drainage work?
Water that gets through the surface finish down to the waterproofing layer is led into the drain channel, so it does not stay trapped in the floor build-up.
Which grate gives the most seamless finish?
The Pure grate. Its recessed top takes an insert of floor material, so only a thin steel outline shows. The Reversible grate is fillable too, and can be turned over for a plain steel top.
Can I order a non-standard length?
Yes. Standard lengths run from 500 to 1200 mm, and bespoke lengths are made to order.
What guarantee does it have?
